Jazz meets technology - pure excitement!

Jazz meets technology—and right in the high-voltage hall! Building on the good feedback from last year’s 5th Zittau Culture Night, the 6th Zittau Culture Night on October 29, a joint performance by the Mandau Quartet with guest musician Nico Rotter and the experiments conducted resulted in two fascinating performances that filled the High-Voltage Hall to capacity.

Thanks to a carefully curated musical program, the experiments fit seamlessly into the lineup, so that the art of jazz and the “art of electrons” complemented and fueled one another.

Cleverly staged with spotlights, the High-Voltage Hall showed an almost glamorous side that evening. And even Halloween made an appearance during the final experiment. By this point at the latest, it was clear just how much enthusiasm the performers had put into preparing the HSZG’s contribution to the 6th Zittau Culture Night.

The event was hosted by the head of the High-Voltage Engineering Department, Prof. Stefan Kornhuber. He was assisted by his colleague, Rüdiger Cervinka. Over the course of two sessions, the numerous interested visitors were able to experience the technology, the music, and the experiments in a variety of colorful ways.
