From the coming winter semester, the HSZG will be offering a new six-semester Bachelor's degree course in Electrical Engineering.
With the newBachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is setting the course for a modern engineering education in the field of electrical engineering that meets the future requirements for engineers and the needs of the job market. The new degree course will increase the attractiveness of the course through individuality and interest-oriented options.
Students can choose between three fields of study: mechatronics, automation/industry 4.0 and smart grids and installations. Integrated compulsory elective modules, such as in the field of computer science, provide students with optimal opportunities to tailor their studies to their own interests and inclinations. This allows students to actively shape their own studies.
The degree course can also be completed in cooperation with a company, either integrated with training (KIA) or alongside practical experience (KIAdirekt). These forms of study are becoming increasingly important, as they allow students to gain direct insights into the world of companies and actively participate in the value chain while they are still studying. The student also receives remuneration from the company to cover living expenses during their studies. Further information on the cooperative study program can be found on the KIA website.
The new offer is rounded off by the new Master's degree course in electrical engineering, which starts in the winter semester 2025/2026. The Master's degree course lasts four semesters and students can choose between the specializations of mechatronics and smart grids and installations.
