Impressions from the IT summer party 2015

In July, the Department of Computer Science organized the IT Summer Festival 2015 on the topic of app development.

In July, the

undefinedcomputer science department

organized the IT Summer Festival 2015 at the university campus in Görlitz. Workshops for pupils and teacher training sessions were heldon the topic of app development/developing web apps . Representatives from IT companies in Görlitz were also present and, in a one-hour plenary session and discussion, shed light on their work as IT specialists from a practical perspective and answered questions from the pupils. In cooperation with Saxonia Systems AG, a workshop on Java FX development was offered for the department's students in the afternoon. The declarative description of modern UIs and styling via CSS has long since ceased to be the sole preserve of web technologies. JavaFX, the successor technology to Swing, is a mature UI technology that can be used to develop high-performance, maintainable and visually appealing Java-based desktop applications. A wide range of effects and animations provide the wow effect. In the workshop, the knowledge for this is taught in a beginner-friendly way.

and

to round off the day with a little refreshment. With music from DJ Norm N, you could try out the flight simulator or get a bird's eye view of the campus with the help of a drone from the department. After an overnight stay in the Alte Herberge in Görlitz, there was a workshop on the second day with a presentation of current research topics in the computer science department at Saxonia Systems.
