Team development in St. Marienthal was the aim of the "Integrated Management Systems" student workshop.
Mastering their studies together as a team was one of the aims of the "Personality and team development" workshop, which took place from April 23-25 for the new students on the Master's degree course in "Integrated Management Systems" at the International Meeting Center St. Marienthal(IBZ) was offered. Organized by the Careers Service's "Learning to Learn" project, this was the second time after 2017 that this format was offered to students on the Master's course run by Professor Jana Brauweiler was held for the second time.
In addition to an intensive time together and the associated positive boost for joint work ability, the workshop also offered an intensive program to improve stress, self-esteem and emotion regulation. Workshop instructor Johannes Marquard presented the so-called seven-step emotional skills training (TEK). This involved acquiring, recognizing or mobilizing skills for dealing appropriately with challenges in study and working life.
The students learned skills that should enable them to cope better with difficult situations in their private and professional lives.
Teamwork skills were also promoted by cooking together in the IBZ's kitchen under the guidance of project employee and trained chef Sebastian Riedel. As a special highlight of the event, university professor and course founder Bernd Delakowitz played well-known folk songs for the convivial barbecue evening.
This type of event is also an opportunity for other students and year groups to get to know situations of everyday student life and personal development early on in their studies.
