Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is the only university in Eastern Germany among the ten best universities!
"Congratulations on ninth place in the MeinProf university ranking! I am truly delighted for the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences that - for the second time now - it is one of Germany's ten best-rated universities and has taken ninth place in MeinProf.de's university ranking!" wrote Melanie Dreßl from MeinProf.de in her message to the university.
The new university ranking from "MeinProf.de", which is based solely on student ratings, was recently published. Students were asked about the quality of teaching at their university. However, individual professors were also assessed. The top-rated professors at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences include Prof. Thomas Worbs from the Faculty of Economics and Industrial Engineering and Prof. Dr. phil. Ulrike Gräßel from the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences already achieved an excellent ranking among the ten best universities last year. "We are naturally delighted to have achieved such an excellent ranking again this year," says Rector Prof. Friedrich Albrecht. "What's more, we are the only East German university to make it into the top ten universities and colleges in Germany this year. I see this as a special recognition of the achievements of our teaching staff and also as an incentive not to let up in our efforts to improve the quality of teaching."

The aims of the non-profit organization MeinProf e.V. are to stimulate public discourse on the quality of teaching in order to give it more attention than research and to improve the quality of German university teaching in the long term. Since 2007, MeinProf has published an annual university ranking that focuses solely on the quality of teaching.
