HSZG again far ahead in MeinProf.de's university ranking

“Congratulations on placing ninth in the MeinProf university ranking! I am truly delighted for Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences that—for the second time now—it ranks among Germany’s ten highest-rated universities and has secured ninth place in the MeinProf.de university ranking!” wrote Melanie Dreßl of MeinProf.de in her message to the university.

The new university ranking from “MeinProf.de,” which is based solely on student evaluations, was recently published. Students were surveyed about the quality of teaching at their university. Individual professors were also evaluated. Among the highest-rated faculty members at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences are Prof. Thomas Worbs from the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management and Prof. Dr. phil. Ulrike Gräßel from the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Last year, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences already achieved a good ranking among the top ten universities. “We are, of course, very pleased that we were able to achieve such a good ranking again this year,” says Rector Prof. Friedrich Albrecht. “On top of that, we are the only university in eastern Germany that has managed to rank among the top ten universities and colleges in Germany this year. I see this as a special recognition of our faculty’s achievements and also as an incentive to continue our efforts to maintain the high quality of our teaching.”

The goals of the nonprofit organization MeinProf e.V. are to stimulate public discourse on the quality of teaching in order to give it greater attention relative to research, and to improve the quality of German higher education teaching in the long term. Since 2007, MeinProf has published an annual university ranking that focuses exclusively on the quality of teaching.
