High honor awarded

The Academic Coordination Center of the Universities of the Neisse Euroregion was honored.

The University of Economics (UE) in Wrocław recently held its tenth celebration. A highlight of this ceremony was the awarding of the medal "Merits for the University of Economics in Wrocław" (Zasłużony dla Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego we Wrocławiu) by the Rector Prof. Andrew Gospodarowic to:

  • Professor Jirí Kraft from the Technical University in Liberec,
  • Professor Rainer Hampel from the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences,
  • Dr. Helena Neumannová from the Technical University in Liberec and
  • Dr. Ernst Richter from the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.


This medal is the highest award of the UE Wrocław and was awarded to these persons by decision of the Senate for their many years of work in the Academic Coordination Center of the universities of the Euroregion Neisse.

The Academic Coordination Center (ACC) was founded in 1991 with the aim of promoting cross-border cooperation between universities in the Euroregion. Its members are

  • the Technical University in Liberec
  • the University of Economics in Wrocław, branch office in Jelenia Góra,
  • the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences,
  • the International University Institute Zittau, central institution at the Dresden University of Technology
  • the Giant Mountains University in Jelenia Góra and
  • the Technical University of Wrocław, branch office in Jelenia Gora.


In his laudatory speech, the Rector of UE Wrocław particularly praised the work of the aforementioned persons in coordinating all international science and research activities in the Neisse Euroregion.
