High voltage guaranteed

The high voltage facility opened its doors to curious ears on Friday, May 17.

During the breaks, the staff of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science shared the beauty of their field with the audience.

Starting at 7 p.m., the residents of Zittau and their guests were able to listen to the readers perform crime stories, thrillers, fables, and biographies. Professors, researchers, and staff members from the university contributed both their own works and those written by others.

During the breaks, the diverse audience could choose between a bratwurst from the Faculty Student Committee for Electrical Engineering or impressive experiments conducted by Professor Kornhuber’s dedicated team.

Anyone who’d like to experience the high voltage facility in a whole new light will have the chance as early as June 5 at the Campus Party. Accompanied by experimental live music, the event will feature high-voltage electrical experiments with fascinating light installations.

The event was organized by the Saxony5 project team and supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Chancellor Hollstein read from fables that shipwrecked people tell each other during a stay on a desert island.
Professor Kroschel not only presented his own book, but also took the audience on a multimedia tour of the G20 demonstration "Welcome to hell" in Hamburg.
Professor Vogt had his audience close their eyes to illustrate the effect of literature from different centuries.
Ms. Herzig concluded the evening and sent the audience off into the night with the inner insights of a life as a start-up guru.
