Help for musicians during the corona crisis

The Zittau/Görlitz University Choir, Inc. is supporting musicians who have been severely affected financially by the COVID-19 crisis. A campaign has been launched on the crowdfunding platform startnext.com to raise funds for a project: works by the Zittau composer Neithard Bethke are to be recorded in the near future in small ensemble settings for organ and solo instrument. In doing so, the association is creating an attractive opportunity for everyone involved—the performing artists will be able to participate in a demanding musical project with a small ensemble in the near future (early summer 2020) while simultaneously creating high-quality recordings that can be used for music marketing.

This is a demanding and challenging project that provides timely financial support to musicians who have been severely affected. We provide a platform for solo achievements. By starting now with concert recordings for the organ-and-solo-instrument ensemble, we demonstrate that artists are eager to successfully realize high-quality projects—they are not merely supplicants. We are here to help.
