"High tech meets students"

In Professor Sophia Keil's Manufacturing Management class / course at the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management, practical orientation is a top priority. The increasing digitalization of business processes results in a high volume of data in companies.

In order to create knowledge from this data and thus create value for companies, so-called "dashboards" are currently increasingly being used in practice. SYSTEMA has developed a real-time capable information model including a dashboard called RI-Suite - "Real-Time Information Suite". This system makes it possible to prepare data to support decision-making by employees in the company.

On 29 May 2018, Dr. Gerhard Luhn and Eckhard Friedrich from SYSTEMA GmbH from "Silicon Saxony" in Dresden visited the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. SYSTEMA cooperates closely with Prof. Keil in both research and teaching. As part of the class / course, Dr. Luhn conducted a workshop for the students in which they jointly developed an understanding of complex production key figures. The students were also given an initial insight into the functionality of the RI-Suite.

SYSTEMA has also made the RI-Suite available to the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences free of charge for teaching and research purposes. This is also the official starting point of the digitization laboratory of Prof. Keil, Prof. Wendt and Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Fallgatter, which is currently being set up at the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management.

It is planned that Dr. Luhn will further deepen students' knowledge of this system as part of guest lectures in the "Operational Software" class / course in the 2018/19 winter semester. In addition, SYSTEMA offers interested students and graduates the opportunity of an internship or a permanent position. In this regard, Dr. Luhn and Mr. Friedrich are available to interested parties as direct contacts at any time.
