Cordial invitation to the graduation ceremony

On April 13, our university will hold its ninth annual central graduation ceremony. “Central” means that the invited Bachelor, Diplom, and master’s graduates from all degree programmes and both campuses will be honored together. In a festive setting, and usually in the presence of their proud families, the graduates are sent off into this new phase of their lives with a small gift from the HSZG.

The ceremony is accompanied by a musical program, which will once again highlight the festive occasion this year. As part of the central graduation ceremony, the Friends of the HSZG award prizes to the top graduates of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

The second highlight of the day is the joint dedication of the “Graduates’ Tree” in the Student Park. This tree was planted in 2009 on the initiative of the Student Council in the open space at the corner of Kantstraße and Hochwaldstraße. At that time, the first 15 trees were planted together with the mayor of Zittau, the Rectors, and the Student Council. Since then, 25 new trees have been added. Thus, on April 13, the 41st tree will be planted in the Student Park. For the sixth time, hundreds of green balloons will adorn the Zittau sky, allowing graduates to send their wishes and dreams into the air.

The day will culminate in the evening with the Graduation Ball, where guests will celebrate and dance late into the night—accompanied by the party band Jolly Jumper.

For the third time, the graduation ball will take place at the Zittau Volkshaus at Äußere Weberstraße 6.

University staff are welcome to register for the graduation celebration by email at absolventen(at)hszg.de.
