You made it!

The first graduates of the part-time Bachelor's degree program "Mechatronics - Intelligent Systems (KIAweb)

They all came to Zittau one last time for the graduation ceremony in 2018. Their studies lasted five years, ten semesters. They come from Munich, Hamburg and the Saarland. Leipzig and Cottbus are just around the corner. Their employer is or was mainly the railroad, or more precisely DB Training. Most of them have been training instructors themselves for years, but now they are faced with the question of how they can continue their careers and what prospects they have.

And the only option was to study. For these students, part-time means attending two lectures in the virtual network every Tuesday and Thursday after work from 4:30 p.m. during the semester. The internships and exams were completed in two two-week periods in Zittau.

Not always easy, especially at the beginning with the "dry" basic subjects of mathematics and physics. The practical applications came later and also the realization that I had not studied in vain and had endured exam anxiety.

The conclusion at the small farewell round in the F-EI faculty with the teachers involved was unanimous. It was worth it! Two of them had already taken on a new position before they received their diplomas.

Although this form of study is not quite as easy, it is certainly lucrative. The university with its laboratories and equipment was also praised. Even Zittau and its surroundings were considered nice and attractive.
