Working together for greater energy efficiency

The managing directors of Stadtwerke Zittau GmbH, Dipl.-Kffr. Sandra Tempel (commercial managing director), Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Hänsch (technical managing director) and the chancellor of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Dipl.-Jur. Karin Hollstein, discussed the results and the continuation of the close cooperation that has existed for many years. Outstanding results of the intensive cooperation include in particular the great support of Stadtwerke Zittau GmbH in the construction of the Zittau Power Plant Laboratory and the Energy Technology Cabinet. The projects supported by Stadtwerke Zittau GmbH have contributed significantly to the expansion of energy expertise at the university. Further joint projects will focus on increasing energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies as well as the development of electromobility.

In summary, it can be said that the cooperation between the two partners has been stable and extremely successful to the benefit of both parties. With the new cooperation agreement, the above-mentioned projects will be continued and, in addition to supporting the practical relevance of energy industry teaching at the university, the focus will be on the implementation of joint research and development projects as well as mutual support in the scientific and organizational preparation of conferences and specialist colloquia.
