Working together for greater energy efficiency

The managing directors of Stadtwerke Zittau GmbH, Ms. Dipl.-Kffr. Sandra Tempel (Commercial Managing Director) and Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Hänsch (Technical Managing Director), as well as the Chancellor of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Ms. Dipl.-Jur. Karin Hollstein, discussed the results and the continuation of the close cooperation that has existed for many years. Among the outstanding achievements of this intensive collaboration are, in particular, the significant support provided by Stadtwerke Zittau GmbH in the construction of the Zittau Power Plant Laboratory and the Energy Technology Cabinet. The projects supported by Stadtwerke Zittau GmbH have contributed significantly to the expansion of energy expertise at the University. Further joint projects will focus on increasing energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy, as well as the development of electric mobility.

In summary, it can be stated that the collaboration between the two partners has developed into a stable and highly successful partnership for mutual benefit. The new cooperation agreement is intended to continue the aforementioned projects will be continued, and in addition to supporting the practical application of energy economics education at the University, the focus will be on conducting joint research and development projects as well as providing mutual support in the scientific and organizational preparation of conferences and specialized colloquia.
