Against the closure of the Siemens plant in Görlitz

Dear students, dear staff members, dear professors,

As you have likely all already read in the press, the Siemens site in Görlitz is up for sale. The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences views the current developments with great concern. For decades, the HSZG has cooperated very closely, extensively, and successfully with Siemens Görlitz, whether in the field of applied research or in the training of engineers, particularly within the framework of the cooperative engineering program.

A closure of the plant would have significant negative consequences for the Upper Lusatia region as a center of business and science.
Therefore, I hereby call on you to support the initiatives aimed at preserving this historic, innovative, and productive plant.

What can you do right now?

If you haven’t already, please sign the petition against the closure of the Görlitz turbine plant.

If you are able, please join the large demonstration against the Siemens closure : Thu., Nov. 9, 12:30 p.m., in front of the Siemens plant, Lutherstraße, Görlitz.

Information: The HSZG supports participation, provided that there are no compelling work-related obligations for employees or attendance requirements for students. However, participation does not count as work time.
