For good teaching
You can now register for the basic module in higher education didactics in Saxony starting in March 2023.
The Foundations Module (Module 1 in the certificate program) of the HDS (Higher Education Didactics Saxony) offers you the opportunity to exchange ideas about teaching at universities with colleagues from various academic disciplines. In doing so, you will explore the fundamentals of higher education pedagogy, discuss them in relation to specific teaching and learning situations, and link them to theoretical models from a wide range of disciplines.
By participating in the certificate program, instructors expand their individual teaching competencies in the areas of knowledge, professional values, and practical skills. Overall, the certificate program aims to raise the level of professionalism in teaching at Saxon universities and to promote a shift in perspective among faculty—a shift from teaching to learning.
The Saxony Higher Education Didactics program is aimed at faculty members with varying levels of experience, from different status groups, and across various departments who wish to engage in a structured way with selected topics in higher education didactics and/or simply want to demonstrate their commitment to teaching.

In accordance with the procedural guidelines for professional development activities, please submit a formal request for participation through your supervisor well in advance. The appropriate form is available on the intranet.
Participation in internal university continuing education and professional development events (including HDS events) lasting up to 4 hours is subject to approval by the responsible supervisor. The request must be submitted to the responsible supervisor for a decision at least five business days before the event begins. Approved requests must be reported to the DPR via beruflicheQualifizierung@hszg.de. (Circular 2020/13, Item 11, dated September 22, 2020).
