Research Associate Polymer Chemistry (m/f/d)

to be filled for a limited period until 31.12.2026.

As part of the project, the job holder (m/f/d) will work on the following tasks in particular:

Collaboration in the project parts:

Fundamental development of novel polymer materials

  • Independent planning of the experiments necessary to achieve the work objectives on the following points:
    Basic development and optimization as well as production of the materials including chemical characterization, investigation of the long-term chemical stability as well as the temperature dependence of the chemical properties and compatibility with conventional materials.

Electrical and dielectric properties of the novel polymer materials

  • Participation in the determination of the electrical and dielectric properties of the materials, also by investigating the influence of water storage and diffusion behavior
  • Independent evaluation and summary as well as documentation of the work results
  • Presentation of research results at project meetings
  • Participation in the publication of research results.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • scientific degree (at least Master's or Diplom (university)) in the field of chemistry/chemical engineering,
  • in-depth knowledge and skills in the field of polymer chemistry,
  • proven knowledge of polymer synthesis and characterization.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • in-depth knowledge in the field of silicone elastomers.

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L. The 1st place of work is Zittau.
