First foreign office in Görlitz's sister city Zgorzelec

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) recently opened its first international office in Görlitz’s sister city, Zgorzelec. Since November 1, 2018, prospective students and their parents have been able to receive regular counseling on the HSZG’s academic programs. The branch office is located in the school building of DPFA EUROPRYMUS Sp. z o. o., a company within the DPFA Academy Group. The HSZG hopes this will result in good ties with Polish partner institutions. In addition, the university’s attractive study conditions and career prospects following successful completion of a degree program are to be made more widely accessible to Polish applicants.

Mr. Tobias Schlüter was tasked with establishing the branch office; he already has good connections to Poland through the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and the Academic Coordination Center in the Neisse Euroregion (ACC). At the same time, the opening of the international office will create further synergies that will not only serve cooperation with academic institutions in the Neisse Euroregion but will also benefit the region’s economic interests. For example, this will allow for the intensification of relations with the Wałbrzych, Jelenia Góra, and Wrocław regions. SMEs and other organizations in civil society are invited to take advantage of these opportunities.

A ceremonial opening of the branch office will take place on January 25, 2019.
