First German-Russian study certificates awarded

Twelve HSZG students received certificates for their participation in the "International Week Kostroma 2016".

Kostroma (RUS). Twelve students from Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences received the first German-Russian study certificates for their active participation in the "International Week Kostroma 2016" on September 30. The joint study certificate with a focus on "Intercultural Communication and Regional Studies" was awarded for the first time. Cooperation partners are the newly founded Institute for Humanities and Social Technologies and the Studium fundamentale. Those responsible are Prof. Dr. Olga Pankratowa, lecturer Dr. Tamara Denissowa (both Nekrasov State University Kostroma) as well as Hon. Prof. Dr. Klaus Werner and Frank Schneider (both HSZG).

German students in the Studium fundamentale have been taking part in an intercultural summer school in Kostroma for some time now. For more than ten years, the two universities have maintained a wide range of academic relationships as part of a university partnership.

For example, Russian students took part in a joint Studium fundamentale study week in Görlitz and Zittau at the end of April 2016. Both sides agreed to continue the student exchange with two complementary events in May and September 2017.

In the area of degree courses, a double degree program in the field of "Integrated Management" is currently being implemented between the two universities. Prof. Jana Brauweiler, Faculty of Environmental and Natural Sciences, and Prof. Artjem Denisov, Institute of Economics, are responsible for this.

The project is funded by the DAAD with funds from the Federal Foreign Office (AA).
