The event took place on June 12, 2018 on the grounds of the Görlitzer Flugsportclub e.V.
Laughing together, giving joy together and experiencing things together - social work students were able to experience this together with residents of the Kemnitz residential home as part of the SWb16 project study program.
Through the project "Improving the housing situation for people with disabilities", the students got to know the residents, caregivers and the building of the Diakoniewerk in the surrounding area, located between Löbau and Görlitz. In addition to acquiring legal and technical knowledge on the topic, the project-related assignment and student motivation is to design and plan the experience day.
The event took place on June 12, 2018 on the grounds of the Görlitzer Flugsportclub e.V. Accompanied by the home's director Mr. Kern and carer Ms. Penther, the group of 15 residents visited the 16 students to eat cake and drink coffee or tea together after a musical introduction. Everyone was then invited to get active and express themselves artistically at the various stations. The participants were able to express themselves creatively by printing bags, test their aim at throwing cans and relax in the cool water or in the cozy relaxation room.
After a cozy evening with barbecue specialties, the experiences could be shared and then it was time for everyone to say "goodbye" with a musical farewell.
Without the great support of the following helpers, the experience day would not have been possible. The participating students would like to thank the Diakoniewerk Oberlausitz e.V., the Rotary Club, the Lions Club Zittau, the Sparkasse Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien, the Feinbäckerei Roman Otto, the Physiotherapie Timm Weißkeißel, the musician Robert Bild, the Rot-Kreuz-Laden Görlitz and our lecturers Prof. Dr.-Ing.
