Experience day for people with disabilities

On May 30, 2017, 14 students from Zittau University of Applied Sciences/Görlitz, under the guidance of Prof. Worbs and Prof. Fichna, organized an activity day for people with disabilities on the grounds of the Görlitz Aviation Sports Club (Görlitzer Flugsportclub e.V.) as part of the “Social Work” project module.

The guests included 16 residents of the Diakoniewerk Oberlausitz e.V. residential home in Kemnitz, accompanied by the home director, Mr. Kern, and the group leader, Mr. Scholz. The schedule for the day was discussed over a cozy coffee and snack spread.

Various stations—including a barefoot trail, T-shirt printing, and musical instrument building—awaited the guests. Everyone eagerly crafted, explored, worked up a sweat, and laughed.

After an eventful afternoon and an evening barbecue, the day’s activities culminated in everyone making music together with their newly crafted instruments, accompanied by a guitar. Our guests drove home that evening feeling satisfied.
