WANTED job exchange success story

This year's WANTED job fair took place on November 23, 2016 in the Peter-Dierich-Haus on the Zittau campus. The fair was opened by Rector Professor Friedrich Albrecht and Lord Mayor Thomas Zenker. Both emphasized the close connection between the city of Zittau and our university as well as the importance of the fair for the entire region.

A total of 27 companies and organizations awaited the visitors with exciting offers for internships, thesis topics or the first job. Some of them were there for the first time and already indicated to the organizers of the careers service that they would be happy to participate again next year - such as Birkenstock GmbH & Co. KG Services or Plan B - Beratende Ingenieure GmbH.

There was a highlight at the XIMA Media GmbH stand. The company had a bicycle in its luggage on which visitors could pedal their way to a bicycle bell while answering a few technical questions. And visitors also had the opportunity to work off the free hot dogs that they could pick up from the list of exhibitors using a voucher. In this way, two birds could be killed with one stone.

Success stories were also reported - for example, Kreisel GmbH & Co KG found a new employee at WANTED in 2014, who was represented at the stand this year and recruited new employees himself. Many other company representatives have also studied at our university and are delighted to be able to visit their former place of training at the trade fair every year. Success stories like these speak for themselves and show that a visit to the fair can be worthwhile for companies and students alike. The fair is therefore of course already firmly scheduled in the 2017/2018 academic year schedule - it will take place on 29.11.2017.

In addition to the exhibitors' presentations, there was once again a varied supporting program for visitors to experience. This included, for example, the free photo campaign, which has thankfully been sponsored by AOK PLUS - Die Gesundheitskasse für Sachsen und Thüringen. for several years now. An application document check and workshops on the topics of application training and assessment centers rounded off the program and made the fair an all-round successful event.
