Successful Master's degree

Mr. Qiji LU completed his Master's degree in the field of mechatronics with excellent results.

Mr. Qiji LU has completed his master’s degree at HSZG with outstanding results in the field of

. He is thus the first student from the Chinese University of Applied Sciences (CDHAW) to successfully complete his master’s degree at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

Mr. Qiji Lu is part of a group of Chinese students participating in a dual-degree bachelor’s program. He completed the first three years of his studies at the CDHAW at Tongji University in Shanghai. In September 2012, Mr. Lu began his fourth year of study at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. After successfully completing his bachelor’s degree and earning degrees from two universities, he decided to pursue a master’s degree.

His challenging Master's thesis at

theundefinedInstitute for Process Engineering, Process Automation, and Measurement Technology (IPM)

at the university addresses the calculation of elastic rotors with a focus on non-contact magnetic bearings. Mr. Lu developed a tool that will make it easier in the future to calculate rotor dynamic behavior under various conditions.

Mr. Lu is now returning to China with his master’s degree and good prospects for a challenging position.

The CDHAW is a project of the German University Consortium (DHIK) and Tongji University in Shanghai.

The program lasts eight semesters (4 years). The 1st through 6th semesters take place at Tongji University. This includes extensive German language instruction and lectures in major subjects taught in German by German professors in Shanghai. For the 7th and 8th semesters, students go to a German consortium university to complete a theory semester and to do an internship and write their Bachelor thesis at a German company.

Conversely, German students also have the opportunity to complete part of their studies at Tongji University—with or without a dual degree.
