The CDHAW is a project of the German University Consortium (DHIK) and Tongji University in Shanghai.
The program lasts eight semesters (4 years). The 1st through 6th semesters take place at Tongji University. This includes extensive German language instruction and lectures in major subjects taught in German by German professors in Shanghai. For the 7th and 8th semesters, students go to a German consortium university to complete a theory semester and to do an internship and write their Bachelor thesis at a German company.
Conversely, German students also have the opportunity to complete part of their studies at Tongji University—with or without a dual degree.
