Learning Space project nearing its degree: a brief insight into the project results - and their sustainability.
--The Czech version follows below--
As the year comes to a close, we at HSB will be saying goodbye not only to 2018 but also to our project“Lernraum – Library InformationPlatform.”However, we can do so with a light heart, as we have celebrated many successes with our project, and a whole range of sustainable offerings and services will continue to be available to our users.
1. User-Friendly Information Platform:
Users of all participating partner libraries can find important information about the project’s offerings and results on our shared information platform . Users can even search the full-text databases of all project partners or learn about other library services.
2. Good information literacy, even for non-university members (“external users”)
Thanks to our information literacy module , every user can develop or strengthen their information literacy skills and thereby handle research, the processing and evaluation of information, and the available media in a good way.
Before you can engage with information and media, you must first know how to navigate the HSB: for those who are not enrolled at HSZG, we have therefore prepared a special section to help them get familiar with the HSB.
3. E-books and Interlibrary Loans from the Czech Republic
Through our online catalog or the information platform, our users can continue to access the large collection of e-books from Taylor & Francis until the end of July 2019. There are more than 6,500 e-books in the selected subject areas. The most frequently used titles will later be added to our collection and will thus be permanently available through the catalog.
Even after the project concludes, we will continue to enable our users, in the same proven manner, to borrow books from one of our Czech partner libraries via a free cross-border interlibrary loan service.
4. Digitization through Media Technology
The multimedia stations acquired as part of the project offer exciting possibilities, enabling both cross-location and cross-border virtual collaboration, as well as local individual and group work in the HSB’s facilities.
5. Final Publication for Those Interested
We would like to support those who wish to carry out an international project themselves with our experience and knowledge. To this end, we have jointly authored a final publication documenting the project, in which readers can learn everything from the planning and implementation to the conclusion of our project. It is available on our information platform as an open-access resource for reference and inspiration.

Success! The “Prostor učení” project nears completion
A Brief Look at the Project’s Results and Their Sustainability
At the end of the year, the University Library (VŠK) will bid farewell not only to 2018 but also to our “Prostor učení—Library Information Platform” project. However, we can do so with a light heart, because we have achieved many successes in the project, and even after the project ends, our users will continue to have access to a wide range of permanent offerings and services.
1. A Comprehensive Information Platform:
Users of all participating partner libraries can find important information about the project’s offerings and results on our joint Library Information Platform. Users can even search the full-text servers of all project partners or learn about other library services.
2. Better information literacy, including for users who are not enrolled at Zi/Gr University
Thanks to our Information Literacy Module, every user can develop or strengthen their information literacy, thereby becoming more proficient in researching, processing, and evaluating information, as well as working with available media.
But before anyone begins working with information and media, they must first learn how to navigate the VŠK: for those who are not enrolled at Zi/Gr University, we have therefore prepared a special section to help them find their way around the VŠK.
3. E-books and Interlibrary Loan Service from the Czech Republic
Through our online catalog or the Information Platform, our users also have access to a large collection of e-books from the publisher Taylor & Francis until the end of July 2019. This includes up to 6,500 e-books in selected subject areas. The most frequently used of these will then be added to our collection and will thus be permanently available in the catalog.
Even after the project ends, we’ll continue to offer our users the proven option of borrowing books from our Czech partner libraries through the free international interlibrary loan service.
4. Digitization Thanks to Media Technology
The multimedia boards acquired as part of the project offer interesting possibilities, enabling not only virtual work that extends beyond local or even national boundaries, but also supporting the local work of individuals and groups on the VŠK campus.
5. Final Publication for Interested Parties
We would like to support those who wish to carry out an international project on their own with our experience and knowledge. To this end, we have jointly compiled a final publication that maps out the course of the project; it covers everything from planning through implementation to the completion of our project. It is available for preview and inspiration on our Information Platform as an open-access resource.
