Enroll now in the Secondary School Teacher Training with Special Needs Education degree programme at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences!
Many have been waiting a long time – and now the time has finally come: Enrollment for the new collaborative degree program Secondary School Teacher Training with Special Needs Education can begin!
Startingin the upcoming winter semester, future teachers inZittau/Görlitz canbegin an innovative teacher-training program that combines subject-specific training at the University of Leipzig with the strong practical components offered by the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz. Together, the two universities provide teacher training at secondary schools with a focus on special needs education.
We’re very excited that it’s finally getting started! With this new teacher education program, we’re sending a strong message about educational equity and retaining skilled professionals in the region. Together with the University of Leipzig, we’re creating a practice-oriented program that breaks new ground in teacher education—right here in the tri-state region and with significant social value.
”Step 1: Submit your application through the University of Leipzig ’s application portal for the teacher training degree programme for secondary schools with special needs education at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
Tip: The easiest way to find the teacher training program at the Zittau/Görlitz campus is to enter “Staatsexamen Lehramt an Oberschulen HS Zittau-Görlitz” in the “Degree Type” field under the search criteria in the program listings section of the application portal. This will show you only the teacher education subjects that can be studied in Görlitz and Zittau.
Step 2: As soon as you receive your provisional enrolment certificate from the University of Leipzig, you should also register in the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences application portal for the degree programme Secondary School Teacher Training with Special Needs Education .
With these two steps, prospective students are covered on both fronts: As soon as they have successfully submitted applications to the University of Leipzig and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, they will receive dual enrollment —and thus access to both universities. They will also receive a wealth of additional information from both institutions: on the organization of the program, contact persons, and, of course, the start of the academic year at the Zittau/Görlitz campus.
