Hydrogen - a network of the future
At the Upper Lusatian Energy Symposium and Zittau Energy Seminar, the diverse use of hydrogen as part of the future energy system was discussed.
“Hydrogen—A Network of the Future!” On November 7 and 8, approximately 60 participants gathered to discuss this topic in the impressive historic setting of the Citizens’ Hall at Zittau City Hall. In 14 presentations, representatives from regional and national companies and scientific institutions analyzed and discussed the use of hydrogen as a component of the future energy system as part of the Upper Lusatia Energy Symposium and the Zittau Energy Seminar.
In addition to technical aspects, the focus was on economic as well as social and sociological considerations. With this event, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences provided a platform for presenting, discussing, and exchanging experiences regarding issues surrounding the use of hydrogen as an energy storage medium, a transport medium, and in conversion processes (production, utilization).
The Energy Seminar is an independent knowledge platform for energy providers, industrial companies, commercial, retail, and service enterprises, as well as decision-makers from municipalities, government agencies, and public institutions. Free from commercial interests, this practice-oriented seminar helps advance the transformation of the energy supply system while balancing economic efficiency, environmental sustainability, and security of supply.
The Upper Lusatia Energy Symposium addresses the challenges associated with structural change in the region and, held every two years, focuses on current issues. It provides a platform for interdisciplinary exchange among the region’s innovation leaders and for strengthening collaboration.
The symposium “Hydrogen—A Network of the Future” was aimed at all companies and institutions involved in the successful implementation of hydrogen technology from both economic and engineering perspectives. It served as a platform for presenting and discussing current issues from industry and research. The event focused on four key topics arising from the challenges posed by changing market demands. The presentations served as catalysts for discussion on current and future challenges and potential solutions. In an open atmosphere, participants exchanged experiences and discussed forms of collaboration in research and education.
