The Swedish Institute's photo exhibition "BarrierFreedom" is currently on show at the university library in Zittau.
This exhibition can be summed up in one word - dignity. According to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, living with dignity despite a disability is a human right.
Nevertheless, equality is still a major issue in our society today. Even though we have already made great progress in our history, we are still a long way from stopping this process.
The university library received the Swedish Institute's photo exhibition "BarrierFreedom" , which was shown for the first time in Germany. Stockholm-based photographer Markus Marcetic took the pictures. The presentation was translated into German by the Swedish Embassy. In this way, we also give the participants the chance to be seen.
The exhibition is based on the everyday stories of 14 Swedes. In this way, the models share their passions, dreams, hopes, worries, preferences, their everyday working life and their life together with their fellow human beings - with us.
The exhibition can be seen at the Zittau site, on the upper floor of the university library, Hochwaldstr. 12,until 22.03.2016.
