Dual study with Deutsche Bahn
A new project aims to inspire and prepare pupils for a dual study program at Deutsche Bahn
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has been collaborating very successfully with DB Netz AG for many years to develop the next generation of engineering professionals.
Our university is accredited to provide advanced training to DB Netz AG’s dual-track students from all over Germany in the field of railway control and safety technology.
In partnership with Deutsche Bahn, the university will launch a new project in April 2023 designed to help high school students in 11th grade and above explore exciting career fields and to inspire and prepare them for a dual study program with Deutsche Bahn.
The program includes six webinars from April through July 2023 and a concluding internship during the summer break at the university’s Zittau campus.
Webinar topics:
- Time and Self-Management
- Application training (assessment)
- Introduction to the basics of the railway system
- Overview of typical career paths for engineering graduates in the field of railway control and safety technology
During the summer break, there will be a 3-day summer camp will take place at the university, where participants can gain practical experience in the railway laboratories and on field trips. The involvement of dual-track students from DB Netz AG will provide opportunities for one-on-one conversations “on equal footing.” And, of course, there will also be plenty of time to explore the attractive university town and the Zittau Mountains.
