The HSZG at the State Harvest Festival

For the 23rd Saxon State Harvest Festival , visitors from across the Free State of Saxony and from our neighboring countries, Poland and the Czech Republic, will be coming to Zittau from September 30 through October2 ,2022. An extensive festival program will enliven the city center with multiple stages, booths, and a colorful mix of culinary delights, art, culture, and exhibitions. We at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will be there and invite you to join us in celebrating rural life. Welcome!

Open campus:

During the festival weekend, we’ll open our Zittau campus to the public with a wide range of activities for guests of all ages. Hands-on stations, information booths, and visual aids from all faculties and research departments will showcase—in an entertaining way—what is taught and researched at HSZG.

Our hands-on stations for young and old!

Ride our smoothie bike and blend your own smoothie—made with local fruits and vegetables, of course.
3D-printed hydrogen scooter: Eco-friendly electric mobility you can ride yourself
Paint-making from natural products: Hands-on station for preschool and elementary school-aged children
Augmented Reality Sandbox: An infrared camera projects various calculated color schemes onto sand, each representing a different elevation.
Laser cutter: Make your own decorative items—for example, design a wheat ear on your laptop and have it cut by the laser cutter
Expand Your Horizons—with Augmented Reality and LEGO®
Transmission Experiment: How are harvesters designed and assembled? Using the transmission as an example, this demonstration shows what our engineers must achieve for high-performance machinery.
Wind Energy Experiment: The wind turbine as a renewable energy source in farmers’ agricultural areas—the energy transition can only happen together.

High-Voltage Technology Experimental Demonstration

Marvel at impressive experiments in the high voltage facility—engaging nearly all your senses!

We tend to associate high-voltage technology with large facilities, overhead power lines, and power plants—yet the research achievements and knowledge regarding its behavior are essential for ensuring that devices in homes and industry function properly, even far away from large overhead lines and high voltages. We’d like to give you a glimpse into this.

Times:

Saturday: 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.
Sunday: 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

HSZG on tour: At the big parade on Sunday

On Sunday (2.10.) there will be a large parade along the Green Ring from 13:00. The HSZG will be taking part in this and will represent King Ottokar's retinue in historical costumes.
