The GUt 2016 are in the starting blocks

The Health and Environment Days (GUt) at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences are part of the MACH MIT environmental management program and are supported by numerous members of the university community, the city of Zittau, businesses, organizations, and initiatives.

We need an environment in which we can live healthily and feel good. Environmental factors affect people’s mental and physical well-being, including stress, nutrition, and mental and physical strain. When putting together the program, we focused on activities that are fun, reduce stress, have a positive effect on the natural environment and on people’s moods, and promote good health. We wish all GUt visitors an eventful few days!

Zittau: Right on the first day, at 7:00 p.m., after a delicious meal, an interesting film titled “Voll Verzuckert” will be shown at the Kronenkino (free admission). VOLL VERZUCKERT – THAT SUGAR FILM follows the journey of a man who uncovers the bitter truth about sugar.
Görlitz: The traditional university sports festival opens at 1:00 p.m. The HSZG’s MachMit team will be there, offering a healthy activity for anyone interested. Here’s a hint: You can pedal your way to your own FairTrade smoothie on a bicycle.

Görlitz: In Görlitzas well , after a delicious meal, we’d like to screen the must-see film “Voll Verzuckert.” The screening starts at 8 p.m. at the Camillo Cinema.

Zittau: Between 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., have your bike checked out for free at the “Radl-Center,” or let the students from the “RepairCafe” initiative (Building IV) show you how to repair your broken items yourself. You’ll also have the chance to pedal your way to a delicious FairTrade smoothie on a bicycle.

Zittau: Starting at 11 a.m., there will be a group bike ride to the Dreiländereck with the mayor of Zittau and the president of HSZG. All HSZG members are invited to join this ride. Thirty discount coupons for a bicycle inspection will be raffled off among all participants. The starting and ending point is City Hall. At the finish line, you’ll find booths run by the HSZG’s MitMach team, the ADFC, and Fritz Fahrräder.
In coordination with the staff council, recognition will be given for participation in the bike tour for up to 1.5 hours (including a 30-minute lunch break); participants in the bike tour must log in and out via the “official business” system.

Zittau: To wrap up GUt 2016, the “Seestern” at Olbersdorfer Lake invites you to test out various pieces of sports equipment at half price starting at 12 p.m. The Seestern’s beach bar will also be open for you.

The Mobile Massage, Active Break, and student canteen programs will also be offered again . In addition , a pedometer challenge between teams from the university and the city of Zittau will take place for the first time.
