Whether you’re dancing the night away in front of the main stage or just soaking up the sun in the chill-out area—there’s something for everyone here. With handmade decorations made from upcycled materials, a graffiti wall for creative expression, and all kinds of culinary delights, the Campus Open Air Görlitz invites you to celebrate the summer.
Save the Date! – June 1 and 2
On June 1, starting at 6:00 p.m., the evening kicks off with a relaxed jam session featuring a song and poetry slam as well as a singer-songwriter performance. A day later, on June 2 starting at 3:00 p.m., the Fun Area will have plenty of surprises in store for kids (and adults) alike, featuring a bounce house, a magician, and a colorful children’s program. Starting at 8:00 p.m., a wide variety of bands will rock the main stage—including band contest winner “KAYMAN” as well as “Joey Voodoo,” who’ll really get the crowd going with their funk-rock crossover tunes. Finally, hundreds will once again gather at the famous after-show party in the cafeteria and, this time, also in the auditorium (that’s two floors!!), to dance to the crisp beats of select DJs until the early morning hours and celebrate the Campus Open Air in style!
Sustainability and Collaboration
At the heart of this year’s concept is environmental and social sustainability, with an additional strong focus on promoting and supporting regional initiatives.
Inter-university collaboration is therefore a top priority at the Campus Open Air.
Points of contact with the university include the Public Relations Office, the Dresden Student Services (Studentenwerk Dresden), the Student Council (StuRa), the Social Sciences Student Council (FSR), and Campus Management.
The 12-member student organizing team—comprising students from the departments of Managerial and Cultural Studies, Social Sciences, and communication psychology and sponsored by Second Attempt e.V.—actively collaborates with various degree programs. For example, the website translation and the children’s program at the festival are carried out in collaboration with students from the fields of business, languages, and social sciences. At the event itself, the Campus Open Air team receives active support from volunteers—including those from outside the university—who are eager to make the festival a truly memorable experience!
