Visit from Malaysia to Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences

On June 8, 18 prospective students from Malaysia visited the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG). They had attended the German-Malaysian Institute at Taman University in Kajang, Malaysia, and are now interested in studying at the HSZG.

The university has a long-standing partnership with the German-Malaysian Institute. One of the representatives, Dr. Wolfgang Zimmermann, accompanied the group to the Zittau campus.

Dr. Stefan Kühne, Head (of divison) of the Office of Academic Affairs and International Relations, together with Ms. Suliman, a staff member of the International Office, welcomed the guests and presented the university as well as details on the application process. Five Malaysian students who came to the university through this partnership and are already studying at HSZG in the faculties of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science shared their experiences of studying at the university and life in the city of Zittau and the surrounding area. It was interesting to hear about the athletic activities some of the students engage in alongside their exceptionally good academic performance.

Afterward, they visited the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management. They also took the opportunity to try lunch at the Studentenwerk cafeteria.

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences expects that a number of the prospective students—who are currently still in Malaysia—will be able to enroll in October this year as well.
