At the KIA Career Fair during the University Open House on March 25, those interested in a dual degree program can find their industry partner.
Are you definitely considering going to college? But do you also want to be financially independent and gain practical experience? Then find out if the dual study program with integrated vocational training at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences—known as KIA for short—is exactly the right choice for you.
How does it work? At the dual study program job fair, held as part of the university’s Open House on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a total of 16 HSZG partner companies from the Mechanical Engineering, energy, and technology sectors will be presenting themselves.
They’ll not only present their own companies but also explain how you, as a KIA student, are integrated into the company’s day-to-day operations, how your practical study phases are structured, and what kind of compensation you can expect.
“For example, ATN Hölzel GmbH—a long-standing internship partner with extensive experience in the KIA (sandwich-style) degree course—will be there to answer any questions,” says Kristin Groß, the KIA coordinator at HSZG. But there will also be new partners on site who are excited to welcome a student into their company for the first time. Kristin Groß knows that being a KIA internship partner offers many advantages: “Companies can tailor their own pool of future specialists and secure their loyalty early on. At the same time, they benefit from the cutting-edge knowledge that KIA students bring with them from the classroom. And they can save on the training time required after graduation.”
For questions about the general structure of the KIA (sandwich-style) degree course, Kristin Groß will be available at her own booth on-site to provide valuable tips and advice to those interested. The companies on-site are also ideal points of contact for graduates, or for those looking to find a suitable partner for an upcoming work placement semester or their Bachelor or Diplom thesis.
