The partnership between HSZG and the St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON), established from 2017 to 2020, has gotten off to a good start in the new year.
During a colloquium with the director of the Russian-German Center, Prof. Dr. Tatjana Nikitina, and doctoral students from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Russia’s market leader Sberbank, and other financial institutions, visiting professor Prof. Dr. Clemens Renker discussed the challenges facing the financial world and called for solutions. As a result, the UNECON University Executive Board has expressed great interest in an annual banking symposium for researchers, faculty, and practitioners.
The opportunities for generating, sharing, and transferring knowledge in the field of energy and utilities appear very promising. Prof. Dr. Tino Schütte (HSZG) has found a partner in Dr. Julia Bichun of UNECON, with whom a wide range of opportunities is opening up—from faculty and student exchanges to joint conferences and even joint publications. Dr. J. Bichun is the director of the newly established master’s degree programme “Energy Management and Sustainable Business.” This degree programme at UNECON is supported by a decree from Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak. Collaboration with HSZG, potentially leading to a joint master’s degree programme, is possible.
Finally, the Vice Dean and Director of the Faculty of Marketing at UNECON, Prof. Dr. Oksana U. Yuldasheva, has appointed Prof. Dr. Clemens Renker as a member of the editorial board for the international publication platform “DIGITAL MARKETING-JOURNAL.”
On the feast day of Tatiana, the patron saint of all students and schoolchildren, Prof. Dr. Clemens Renker was invited to join the rectors of St. Petersburg’s universities, government representatives, and dignitaries of the Orthodox Church at the state ceremony held in Smolny, arguably Russia’s most significant cathedral. Universities, the state, and the church honored outstanding academic achievements at the event, particularly those of the Dean of Economics and Ethics at UNECON.
