In 2015, the Rectorate and the University's Sponsors' Association are awarding the university's own teaching prize for the first time.
In 2015, the Rectorate and the university's sponsorship association are awarding a university teaching prize for the first time. The aim is to recognize above-average commitment and outstanding achievements in teaching at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Furthermore, the special importance of university teaching as a whole is made visible and an incentive is created for lecturers at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences to continuously develop their teaching. The awarding of the teaching prize therefore supports the improvement of the quality of teaching and is an essential instrument in the quality management of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
The following can be awarded:
a) university lecturers, lecturers with a specified function,
lecturers, tutors or
b) groups of lecturers according to letter a)
of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. As a rule, the prize is only awarded to one person or group.
The prize is endowed as a cash prize of 1,000 euros as a one-off payment. The awarding of the prize is subject to the provision of funds by the Förderverein der Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz e.V..
The acceptance of the prize by the prizewinner is not linked to any consideration. The prizewinner may freely dispose of the prize money. If applicable, tax obligations must be observed.

Documents not submitted in due time and form cannot be considered in the selection process.
Individual lecturers or groups of lecturers with above-average commitment and outstanding achievements in teaching can be nominated for the teaching award.
The faculties and central institutions are entitled to nominate candidates in coordination with the Faculty Student Committees of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. The nominations must be submitted to the Rector via the Dean of the respective faculty by 04.05.2015 following a decision by the Faculty Council.
Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will issue a certificate to the award winner and the chairperson of the selection committee will present the teaching award during the enrolment ceremony on 01.10.2015.
