Kick-off KinoSalon at the Zittau Crown Cinema

Nowadays, it is impossible to imagine our daily lives without plastic, and it plays an equally essential role in many sectors of various industries and in medicine. However, plastic also has alarming effects on the environment, particularly on the seas and oceans. The pros and cons will be discussed on World Environment Day 2017 under the theme “Plastic Everywhere” on November 8 in Zittau from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Building Z IV, and these will be discussed with visitors.

The organizers will welcome guests to attend lectures, take a tour of the Zittau wastewater treatment plant, participate in a workshop on decentralized plastic recycling, and explore an exhibition. You can find the program for Environment Day in Zittau here.

At the same time, this day marks the kickoff of the new KinoSalon season. At the Kronenkino in Zittau (Äußere Weberstraße 17), the documentary “A Plastic Ocean” will be shown at 7:00 p.m., followed by a panel discussion. This project is organized by the StuRa, the student association of the International University Institute, SNEEP e.V., and the Kronenkino.

You can find additional dates for high-quality documentaries followed by expert panel discussions this winter semester here. The focus will then be on “The Milk System” and the topic of bullying.
