Off to the "late shift"

This coming Friday, Zittau will host its second annual Open Company Day. For this “late shift,” ten regional companies will once again open their doors starting at 4:00 p.m., offering visitors exciting glimpses inside their production facilities and offices. In addition to showcasing the companies’ day-to-day workflows and work environments, the event will also highlight training and career opportunities across a wide range of business sectors. The region’s ongoing need for skilled workers—which is particularly evident in STEM fields—as well as the often limited awareness of local businesses and the diverse career prospects they offer are the driving forces behind the “late shift.”

For younger visitors in particular, this afternoon and evening therefore offers yet another ideal opportunity for career orientation. Visitors can also engage in personal conversations on-site with experienced employees, ask all kinds of questions, and thus establish initial contacts regarding internships, work placement semesters, or available apprenticeship and job openings.

The Open Company Day—“Late Shift” —is organized in collaboration with the Zittau Economic Development Agency and the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), Zittau branch. All interested parties are cordially invited to stop by on Friday, October 13, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., to explore the companies according to their own interests. The event is free of charge.
