Working visit by the VDI Energy Working Group
The members of the Dresden Energy Technology Working Group visited the IPM's test facilities.
The members of the Energy Working Group toured the IPM’s test facilities in the newly constructed power plant laboratory and in the Schwenninger Weg laboratory
- Active magnetically levitated rotating machines (Prof. Worlitz, Mr. Düsterhaupt)
- Thermal energy storage systems for highly transient processes (Prof. Kratzsch)
- Test facilities for particle-laden flows (Prof. Kästner).
After Prof. Rainer Hampel welcomed the group, led by Dr.-Ing. Schüttoff, Prof. Wolfgang Kästner began by presenting the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, focusing in particular on its teaching and research profile.
The group was impressed by the experimental facilities, as well as by the dedication of the staff and faculty members. Naturally, the effects of the so-called energy transition on teaching and research played a role in the technical discussions. It was agreed that there would be continued intensive collaboration with the working group within the district association.
