The members of the Dresden Energy Technology Working Group visited the IPM's test facilities.
The members of the Energy Working Group visited the IPM's test facilities in the newly built power plant laboratory and in the Schwenninger Weg laboratory
- actively magnetically levitated rotating machines (Prof. Worlitz, Mr. Düsterhaupt)
- Thermal energy storage for highly transient processes (Prof. Kratzsch)
- Experimental facilities for particle-loaded flows (Prof. Kästner).
After the group was welcomed by Prof. Rainer Hampel under the leadership of Dr.-Ing. Schüttoff, Prof. Wolfgang Kästner first introduced the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, in particular its teaching and research profile.
The group was impressed by the experimental facilities, as well as by the commitment of the staff and university lecturers. The effects of the so-called energy transition on teaching and research naturally played a role in the technical discussions. Further intensive cooperation with the working group in the district association was agreed.
