"As if you were traveling the whole world"

A campus talk with Aneta Lafantová, who studies in Görlitz, loves to bake and has something very special planned for Easter.

"My name is Aneta Lafantová, I'm 20 years old and I come from the Czech Republic, from a small town northwest of Prague. I came to Germany straight after graduating from high school in May 2016. My career aspiration was and still is to become a translator for German and Czech. I decided to study in Germany so that I could get a feel for the German language. I also wanted to try out what it's like to live abroad.

Before my regular studies, I took part in the DSH course at the HSZG Studienkolleg. I studied German intensively for a semester. It was the best preparation and I also made great friends here.

I am currently in my second semester and am studying economics and languages in a combination of Czech and German in Görlitz. I am very happy with my studies. I wouldn't want to change it. I also have no complaints about Görlitz as a location; it's a beautiful, manageable small town that offers wonderful leisure activities.

I'm also happy about my student job, which I was offered by the university. My job is to help foreign students start their studies and to create surveys.

What I like best about Germany are the different cultures that come together here. It makes youfeel like you're traveling the whole world."
