10 years of discourse on childhood and youth research!

"The Discourse on Childhood and Youth Research has established itself as a central journal in the social sciences," says Prof. Dr. Andrea G. Eckhardt, Professor of

. She has been co-editor of the journal since 2011.

The empirical and theoretical articles focus on how children and young people grow up. The focus is on the development and challenges of the next generation, the conditions of learning, their life situations and social and political problems. Each issue focuses on a current topic. Prof. Eckhardt was in charge of issue 4/2013 Language Acquisition in Childhood and Adolescence (together with Prof. Dr. Ingrid Gogolin, University of Hamburg) and issue 2/2014 Health in Childhood.

This year, the journal celebrated its 10th anniversary. At the symposium in July 2015, Prof. Dr. Heinz-Hermann Krüger from the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg was honored with the scientific award of the journal Diskurs Kindheits- und Jugendforschung (Discourse on Childhood and Youth Research) for his contributions, suggestions and criticism as a co-founder of the journal.
