The first university-city-company run had its premiere, and there will be a sequel in 2018.
The 1st University-City-Company-Run 2017 can look back on a lot of fun, a very good mood, bright sunshine and highly motivated runners from Zittau companies, institutions, the city administration and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
They had to complete the 800-metre campus circuit ten times as individuals or in teams of 2, 3 or 4, making a total of 8 kilometers. With an incredible 21 minutes, the fastest team was the university employee 2-man team "TV/HST" with Rüdiger Cervinka and Silvio Schneider, closely followed by the university student 2-man team "Schabottenhämmer" with Benjamin Mehner and Christoph Gräfe. In a duel and with the tactic of taking turns per lap, both teams made the race very exciting. The duel between the individual starters Swen Adolf from K & A Betreuerbüro and Georg Rabe from Freiraum Zittau e. V. was just as exciting. Both were always so close on each other's heels during the run that Swen Adolf almost alternately led one lap and Georg Rabe the next. In the final sprint, they crossed the finish line together and were both winners of the individual classification. Congratulations! We would also like to congratulate Gregor Jahnich from Zittauer Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, the second-placed individual starter, for a great run! And, of course, congratulations to the third-placed team of four in the team competition, the "Laufende §§§§ - Stadtverwaltung Zittau". (see photo above)

Many thanks to all five individual starters, the seven teams of two, eight teams of three and the six teams of four for their participation, fair play and great atmosphere!
A big thank you also goes to Stadtwerke Zittau, who, in addition to their running team, also provided a drinking water bar, which was very well received in the bright sunshine and high temperatures.
