The annual meeting between the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) and Hochschuldidaktik Sachsen (HDS) focused on central questions of strategic teaching development. Against the backdrop of social, technological and institutional transformation processes, the discussion focused on how good teaching, successful learning and sustainable study structures can be secured and further developed in the long term.
The importance of transformation competence and future skills for the profile development of the HSZG was emphasized. Topics such as the development of English-language courses, International Affairs, dealing with declining student numbers in individual degree programmes and the structural anchoring of university didactics in future organizational models were central points of discussion. There was agreement that teaching quality requires targeted freedom, reliable framework conditions and systematic support for teaching staff.
Another focus was on the strategic orientation of teaching in the context of artificial intelligence, sustainable learning processes and the mental health of students. The role of state-wide networks, joint project applications and innovative further education formats was emphasized as a key lever for the further development of university teaching in Saxony.
