Purposes of data processing

As part of a student thesis, the HSZG is conducting a usability test of the online game ... to assess its user-friendliness and identify weaknesses in the software. The findings and user feedback will be incorporated into the further development and improvement of the software.

Categories of personal data

The actions performed by the participants in the usability test to operate the software, as well as their verbal and written responses to questions regarding their user experience, constitute personal data that is processed by HSZG as part of a student’s thesis. The following categories of personal data are processed for the aforementioned purposes:

  • Last name, first name
  • Email address
  • Recording of the usability test using Zoom, including the test subject’s interactions with the online game and their verbal comments

Legal basis

The processing of personal data collected from usability tests is carried out in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR on the basis of voluntary and informed consent.

Recipients

The HSCG only discloses personal data to the following internal recipients for the purposes of this processing activity:

  • Members of the research team

The HSCG does not transfer personal data to a third country or an international organization.

Storage duration

Without prejudice to your right to erasure(Art. 17 GDPR), the data will be stored for the duration of the fulfillment of their collection purposes until the successful defense of the thesis, in which they are included anonymously.

Rights of the data subjects

As a person affected by the processing of your personal data, you have the following rights if the legal requirements are met:

  • You have the right to information about the processing of your personal data(Art. 15 GDPR).
  • You have the right to rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you(Art. 16 GDPR)
  • You have the right to erasure of your personal data(Art. 17 GDPR).
  • You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data(Art. 18 GDPR)
  • You have the right to data portability of your personal data(Art. 20 GDPR)
  • You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time(Art. 21 GDPR)
  • You have the right to withdraw your consent to data processing at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out on the basis of your consent until revocation remains unaffected(Art. 13 para. 2 lit. c GDPR).

Provision of personal data

The provision of personal data is not required by law or contract in accordance with Art. 13 (2) lit. e GDPR.
