As part of Dementia Week, the AAL Lab in Görlitz is inviting interested members of the public and experts to public tours.
The AAL Lab (Active Assisted Living) shows technical assistance systems that can help older people and people with cognitive impairments - for example due to dementia - to live independently and safely in their own homes for as long as possible. The exhibits include sensor-based support systems, emergency solutions, digital helpers for everyday life and innovative living concepts.
The guided tours provide practical insights into current research and development approaches relating to the topic of "Technology for ageing well" and invite visitors to discuss the possibilities and limitations of technical support.
Dementia Week takes place annually around World Alzheimer's Day on September 21. The aim of the campaign week is to raise public awareness of living with dementia, make support services visible and strengthen social interaction. In Saxony, the week is coordinated by https://www.landesinitiative-demenz.de/LandesinitiativeDemenz Sachsen e. V. Alzheimer Society, which supports events, information services and opportunities for encounters throughout the state.
