"Digital violence: a blind spot for politics and society?"

A lecture by Anne Roth, advisor for digital policy in the Bundestag

According to HateAid (2021), every second person between the ages of 18 and 35 has already experienced digital violence.

Digital violence often takes place exactly where we least expect it: in our social environment. Whether stalking, intimate partner violence, secret filming or surveillance through smart devices - technology-based violence is a reality for many, but often remains invisible.

In her presentation, Anne Roth, digital policy advisor in the German Bundestag, will show how digital technologies are deliberately misused as a means of control. She will also talk about the responsibility of politics and society and what steps would be necessary to provide better protection for those affected.

The event is organized by the VHS-Dreiländereck as part of the vhs.Media project and takes place in cooperation with the Intervention and Coordination Office for Domestic Violence LK Görlitz (IKS) and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

Participation is free of charge.
