Education Day 2026: Learning for Tomorrow—University as a Space for Shaping a Sustainable Future

Teaching Day 2026 focuses on the question of how higher education can empower students to actively shape a sustainable future. Against the backdrop of profound societal transformations—climate change, digitalization, demographic shift, and the use of artificial intelligence—the university sees itself not merely as a place for imparting knowledge, but as a space for fostering responsibility, reflection, and the capacity for action.

The event draws on key approaches of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and focuses on future-oriented competencies such as interaction, cooperation, critical thinking, and a willingness to embrace change.
