SPIN2030 Science Festival
The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will participate in the SPIN2030 Science Festival in Dresden, March 8–9, 2024, with exhibits, workshops, and expert discussions.

On March 8 and 9, 2024, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will participate in the SPIN2030 Festival, which will take place at the Technische Sammlungen Dresden. This statewide event, initiated by the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture, and Tourism, will showcase a wide range of scientific disciplines and projects.
The university’s program includes a variety of activities:
- Exhibits: Interactive experiences with augmented reality and LEGO®, as well as insights into the Zittau Power Plant Laboratory and its test facilities.
- Workshops: Hands-on workshops on topics such as the residential energy transition and the importance of civic engagement in the development of rural regions.
- Meet a Scientist: A dialogue with Prof. Stefan Kornhuber on the transformation of the energy supply in the context of climate change and renewable energy.
The event is an important part of the initiative “SPIN2030. Saxony—Land of Science,” which highlights the diversity and expertise of Saxony’s research institutions. Admission to the festival is free, and anyone interested is invited to visit the exhibits and workshops. Accessible guided tours in sign language are also available.
