The Institute of Process Engineering, Process Automation and Measurement Technology at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences presents the "Lubricant-free steam turbine" test field to members of the public interested in technology. It will be shown how a rotor with a mass of 2.4 tons is precisely levitated using magnetic bearings. Technological challenges and prospects will be discussed in a dialogue.
