The 15th Zittau Culture Night will take place on October 24, 2026. Once again this year, the HSZG will participate with a program in the high voltage facility.

With an admission wristband, visitors to the Zittau Culture Night can discover the city’s cultural diversity. An evening stroll takes you to readings and lectures, concerts, art exhibitions, and guided tours. There are also activities for children.
SOUND, VOLTAGE, LIGHT
In the HSZG’s high voltage facility, high-voltage experiments and a light installation are paired with specially curated live music. Experiments and musical performances alternate over the course of two sessions.
Playpad Circus is the audiovisual project of musician, composer, and media artist Chris Fischer, an HSZG alumnus. Together with Victoria Hohlfeld, he has developed a concert program thematically tailored to the experiments. The HSZG staff member and student will be complementing the music with live vocals for the first time. She has already performed as a singer at the past two enrollment ceremonies. The program combines electronic sounds with live music.
The high-voltage experiments are being conducted by the High-Voltage Engineering team under the direction of Prof. Dr. Stefan Kornhuber.
In front of the high voltage facility
An electrifying highlight awaits our visitors: a custom-built Tesla transformer generates electrical discharges in a secured area. These discharges also light up an installation made from old fluorescent tubes.
There are two performances: at 7:30 p.m. and at 9:00 p.m.
Admission to the high voltage facility begins at 7:20 p.m. Admission wristbands can be purchased on site.
Please note: Seating capacity is very limited. We appreciate your understanding.
