Competence models for university teaching - update and orientation in the jungle of terms relating to competences

This short online workshop shows you the possibilities and opportunities of competence-oriented university teaching and offers you orientation with regard to the successful integration of competence development into your own teaching.

Begin 09. June 2023 - 14:00
End 09. June 2023 - 15:30

According to Erpenbeck and Heise, competencies are "prerequisites for action, i.e. basic abilities to find one's way in new, open, unmanageable, dynamic situations and to act actively". So far, so good, but what competence models are there and how can I use them didactically? In the first part of the short online workshop, you will be introduced to competence models for university teaching, in particular future skills, 21st century skills and digital skills. The second part shows you the possibilities and opportunities of competence-oriented university teaching and offers you orientation with regard to the successful integration of competence development in your own teaching.

Learning objectives

On completion of the short online workshop, participants will be able to

  • name future skills, 21st century skills, digital skills and competencies for the working world of today and tomorrow and
  • present the opportunities and challenges of these for their own university teaching.
