From May 9 - 11, 7 examples of sustainability in the three-country region will be tinkered with, coded, designed and presented. Students and other creative minds from all disciplines (technology, IT, business, tourism, humanities) will come together in teams to tackle the challenges. These are case studies on green-blue infrastructure in cities such as Bogatynia, Zittau or Liberec, as well as on the potential of solar technology applications for agriculture, mobility and in urban areas. Which tools can be used to make project activities from "Jugend bewegt Region" even more accessible to the target group? What requirements do users have when it comes to controlling their ventilation system and can the control of such a system be optimized? Regional food promotes regional value creation and makes a major contribution to sustainable food supply - what tools can be used to boost sales in our region?
Companies, institutions and municipalities from the three-country region provide these case studies.
Thematically, we focus on sustainable solutions that promote energy efficiency and resource conservation. Social and cultural as well as ecological and economic aspects are taken into account.
In addition to material and cash prizes, the winners will have the opportunity to present their prototypes and concepts at the Energy Forum in Bautzen and the Future Forum in Zittau on June 19.
Universities in Jelenia Góra, Liberec and the IHI in Zittau are sending students to the joint challenge in Zittau to develop creative, sustainable solutions with students from the HSZG.
This hackathon is being developed and carried out as part of the "Green Future of the Border Region" project. The HSZG has been working together with KARR Karkonoska Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego S.A and TGZ Bautzen since the beginning of 2024 on this project, which is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the INTERREG Poland-Saxony 2021-2027 cooperation program.
