Introduction to generative AI systems (ChatGPT & Co.)

Generative AI systems such as ChatGPT offer new possibilities for academic work in both study and teaching. This course provides a basic understanding of how such systems work and the paradigms underlying them. Through hands-on exercises, participants will gain firsthand experience with the capabilities and limitations of generative AI. Using specific prompts related to academic writing, information research, and argumentation, participants will analyze the performance of generative AI systems. The goal is to enable participants to make a well-informed assessment of the current capabilities and limitations of these systems.
